The symbolic mosque was placed in Shalamcheh. The picture of sunset was painted to indicate the sunset of south which seems to last an eternity.

2019 | The War Zone

Shalamcheh is a town located in Khuzestan, Iran. It was a war zone during Iran-Iraq war. Today, This place has been known for visitors as a war memorial introducing the history and catastrophes happened there. The photos have been taken in a pure silence. I could hear the sounds echoing from the heart of soil and walls. The sounds which resembled the cry of 50,000 patriotic soldiers who had been killed there. I wonder whether or not the symbolic elements which are put there could ever emerge the truth of war. These are the outcomes of my travel to Shalamcheh.
